Brandon Lake is a GRAMMY® Award-winning artist and songwriter from Charleston, South Carolina. As a worship leader for gatherings around the nation, his purpose is to call followers of Jesus into a posture of freedom and confidence—creating space to boldly declare truth and expect great things. Most recently, his song, “Gratitude” hit number one on the Mediabase Impressions Chart as of 2023. Having spent a number of years releasing songs with Elevation Worship as well as Maverick City Music, he has taken home five GRAMMY® awards over the course of his professional music career, and he has been nominated for a total of ten. At the 2023 GRAMMY® Awards, he was nominated within five categories and received the following four awards: “Best Gospel Performance/Song” for “Kingdom” and “Best Contemporary Christian Music Performance/Song” for “Fear is Not My Future,” as well as “Best Gospel Album” for Kingdom Book One Deluxe and “Best Contemporary Christian Music Album” for Breathe. In 2022, he was awarded his first GRAMMY® for “Best Contemporary Christian Music Album,” in recognition of the record, Old Church Basement. The 2021 GMA Dove Awards named Lake “Songwriter of the Year,” and at the same event, he was awarded “Worship Recorded Song of the Year” for the groundbreaking song, “Graves Into Gardens.” “This is a Move,” co-written with Tasha Cobbs Leonard, won a 2019 GMA Dove Award for “Gospel Worship Recorded Song of the Year,” and it was also nominated for a 2020 GRAMMY® Award. Lake’s full length albums include HELP!, which serves as a declaration of truth and a “me too” in response to anyone who struggles with mental health—while his album, House of Miracles, was released in 2020 with a desire for the songs to become beacons of hope in homes across the world. Believing that people have so much more inside of them than they think possible, Lake longs to see Christians “live free and be everything that God has called them to be.” To follow along, visit brandonlake.co.
Self-titled album out Nov. 4, 2022 (Capitol CMG) Benjamin William Hastings, a Northern Irish songwriter, singer, and worship leader, was raised in Belfast but spent the better part of his twenties in Sydney, Australia. There he fell in love with Jessa, a beautiful girl who also shared a love for words, and a year later they decided to share a name. In their early years they tried to write together but as it turns out, that was not very good for their marriage and so they focused their attention on starting a family which resulted in two very perfect children. While living in Sydney, Benjamin fell in with a church crowd who just so happened to be some of Jessa’s childhood friends – that motley crew was Hillsong UNITED. Thanks to their friendship and through numerous collaborations, recordings, and tours, Benjamin has been part of many of their biggest songs, such as writing and leading vocals on UNITED’s “So Will I (100 Billion X).” He also penned Cory Asbury’s No. 1 song “The Father’s House,” Brandon Lake’s “Gratitude,” and Hillsong Worship’s “O Praise The Name (Anástasis).” Yes, he’s written a whole lot of songs which, if you add them all together, have been streamed over 500 million times (not quite a 100 billion, but it’s on the way!). Recently, Benjamin and his family of five (including their dog) moved to Los Angeles, CA where he and Jessa still don’t write together but are hard at work on their respective crafts. She is a renowned author and he is an award-winning songwriter, a member of UNITED, and now a solo artist. His new self-titled offering is 25 songs that explore, as he shares, “all the sides of me” – family, love, the ongoing wrestle of exercising faith, the struggles with fear and doubt, war, finding God, fighting God, and fighting for God in the midst of everything. To be honest, it may be a little more honest than what any of us are used to hearing but as Benjamin puts it ‘what better way to outwork an existential crisis than through a diary of song?’ He continues, “I’ve been really quite fortunate that in the various things I’m connected to that I’ve always had the ability to write freely and be myself, say the things I’ve needed to say and say it in a way that sounded like me. And occasionally writing songs for friends, I have felt really quite content with my life and contribution to the world. However, a number of years ago now, songs started coming out of me that didn’t feel like they belonged anywhere but they didn’t feel like they should die either. I felt like there were things that needed to be said and I felt like I needed to be the one to say them. They were too personal to me to just put through any other voice and I’m so, so grateful for everyone who embarked on this very long journey with me and I’m so proud of where it landed. If I could summarize what you should expect from this album in a sentence or two, it would be precisely this lyric from the first track, ‘Hold onto your hats, hold onto your hearts. We’re gonna lie in the dirt but we’ll stare at the stars.’”
Leeland is a Texas-based band made of lead singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist Leeland Mooring alongside guitarist and co-writer Casey Moore. They came to the forefront of the worship music sphere in 2004 and debuted their first project in 2006. Fast forward to now, after seven albums, four GRAMMY® nominations, and eight GMA Dove Award® nominations under their belts, Leeland have become one of the most significant and standout voices in a new generation of worship music. Their lives, ministry, and music are a true extension of their passion to simply worship God personally and in community. “Although our genesis as a band was in the Contemporary Christian Music artist stream, we’ve always been local church pastor’s kids,” explains Mooring who spent his childhood going from town to town with his parents who ministered music in tandem with being traveling evangelists. “Half of the songs on our first studio album came out of intimate youth group worship services in our house or wherever we could meet,” he adds. Originally formatted as a pop/rock outfit readying commercial songs for radio, Leeland released their debut album, Sounds of Melodies, in 2006. Spawning a GRAMMY nomination and multiple Dove Award nods, the record trailblazed a new path of artistic and Levitical worship led by the band. Mooring explains that the bulk of Leeland’s songs have always been inspired by the communion of worship. More recently, Mooring co-wrote one of the Church’s most-sung standards, “Lion and the Lamb”, with seasoned writers Brenton Brown and Brian Johnson. The song cemented his personal status as a young veteran in the sphere of modern worship music, further affirming that Leeland as a collective are drawn into crafting songs that court congregations across the globe to worship God through the act of singing – and singing together. The last few years have been more hidden for Leeland, allowing them to dig deep into rich ideas and the unending depth of the Scriptures. Carrying on the legacy of their unique voice in the worship world, they announce a new album in early 2023 leaning into a fearless exploration of a pastoral and prophetic voice of worship where songs are sung together and over the people of God. ‘Heart & Flesh’, the first single featuring TAYA, sets the scene with a track infused with meditative sonorities and soul-grabbing words that unveils the artistic and Levitical universe of Leeland’s upcoming record.
